This is a very well made hose reel. I have had 2 other different brand reels fall apart in the past few years. Unlike this well made metal reel, they were mostly plastic and did not stand up to the Florida sun and heat. This one may cost a few more dollars, but so far it has proven to be worth it.

Excellent hose reel and very durable. One thing to watch for though is that the crank handle connects using a “reverse thread” that’s NOT mentioned in the paperwork. Luckily, Gorilla sent me a new one in a week’s time.

I’m hoping the time it took to put this hose reel together was worth the effort. Looks sturdier than the plastic reels I have previously purchased which fell apart from sun/heat and cold exposure.

This hose reel is a delight to use. It releases and winds the hose perfectly. I expect that it will last a long time due to the high quality of the components that it is made of. With previous hose reels almost every year they would fail in one way or another.

I really enjoy a durable hose/holder that doesn’t flip over when I am watering the lawn, and stays in place, great length to reach around my whole front yard. I love, love, love it ..Yeah

Durable reel. Works fine. Needs a hook to hang the nozzle. Other than that it’s worth the price

Awesome product. Gorilla is a great brand. I also have a Gorilla Poly Dump Cart rated at. 1200 lb. capacity. Will never go back to a wheelbarrow!

Great hose reel. Far and away better than those cheap plastic junk reels you find elsewhere. My only complaint is it has brass fittings which are nice but Gorilla’s hose has aluminum fittings. Why not make them brass also? They say it has a special coating to prevent galvanized corrosion but really? So why do they sell an adapter that does not work well with the reel? I have their adapter and it does not fit well to the reel as when you connect their hose to it, it sticks up far too much when wound up.

Other than that, it is a well designed and engineered product.

Great hose reel, best we’ve ever had. We have 2 with handles, and 1 without. Get one with a handle for easier moving. We’ve had all 3 for over a year. They all still work smoothly and look as if they were brand new. Very pleased.

Very well made. All parts are first rate. Works very well. I only wish it were a bit taller. It’s much lower than my old mostly plastic hose reel. But, it’s definitely worth buying!

I had been wrapping my garden hoses around some tree limbs I had cut. It was tedious, time-consuming, difficult, and unsightly, so I started researching various types of hose reels and carts, including those that automatically retract the hose. After considerable research, I purchased two of the Gorilla 150-Foot Hose Reels GRS-150H. They were easy to put together with the included allen wrench, work smoothly, are very durable, have a zero-rust aluminum frame, high-impact blow-moulded reel, brass no-leak fittings, cast aluminum hand crank, a 6-foot heavy-duty leader hose to attach to a spigot, and a 7-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. Even though the Gorilla Hose Reel I bought is rated for 150 feet of garden hose, in my case, 100 feet was ideal. The only negative and a bit of an inconvenience is that the hose reel is very low to the ground, which requires either leaning over or kneeling to crank the hose back onto the reel. You must also step on the foot of the reel to prevent it from moving when beginning to reel in the hose. After doing a little more research, I read that the Gorilla Hose Reel could be mounted on the brick siding of the house. Just be sure you are within 6 feet of a hose spigot to attach the included leader hose. Attaching the Gorilla Hose Reel to the house at waist level makes it a breeze to operate. Problem solved! I’m very pleased with my purchase!!
